Welcome on arrival Then Pickup at Bagdogra Airport / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station and transfer to Gangtok(128kms/5hrs). At an altitude of 5500ft Gangtok is the capital of the state of Sikkim is a beautiful and clean town promising of the best monasteries and landscapes. Check in at Hotel. Take rest and then walk around town to appreciate the new culture you are in. Overnight at Gangtok.
A trip to Tsomgo Lake and its nearby attractions
Destination: Tsomgo Lake (12,400ft) and 34kms from Gangtok
Duration: Depends on the weather but normally 3hrs
Trip Description: After a hearty breakfast starts the tour to Tsomgo Lake (12,400ft, 34km). The lake is 1 km long, oval in shape and 50ft deep. Here you can witness snow, snowfall (if you’re lucky) & Yak Riding. Visit to the legendary Baba Mandir. Optional tour to Nathula Pass (The Indo-China border) depends upon the availability of permit which costs an additional of Rs.3000-4000 per vehicle (Monday the pass is closed). Overnight stay at Gangtok.
Half day Sightseeing in Gangtok and drive to Darjeeling Description of the tour: After breakfast visiting nearby attractions like Ropeway. Do-Drul Chorten, Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, Directorate of Handicraft & Handloom (Sunday Closed) & Flower Show (Orchid). Overnight stay at Darjeeling.
Description of the Tour: Early Morning (at around 4 am) drive to Tiger hill to watch the spectacular sunrise over Mt. Khangchendzonga (28,208 ft. Worlds 3rd highest peak) (subject to clear weather),omn the way Visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop War Memorial while returning to the Hotel. Breakfast at the Hotel followed by half day local Best Points sightseeing covering Padmaja N. Zoological Garden (Closed on Thursday), Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday), Tibetan Refugee Self-help Center (Closed on Sunday), Japanese Temple, Peace Pagoda, Tenzing & Gombu Rock, Tea Estate Garden (outer view) and walk around to the Mall & Local Market (Closed on Thursday). Evening free at Darjeeling individual activity and leisure. Overnight at Darjeeling.
After breakfast, transfer from Darjeeling to Bagdogra Airport / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (3.5hrs).
